The AYSO EXTRA program is a pilot project designed for skilled players who want more competitive play and increased training inside the parameters of the AYSO philosophies. The AYSO EXTRA program will resemble our traditional tournament team structure: Players must try out to make a team, and the teams will compete against other competitive (i.e. tournament caliber) teams in Area 1-P (Los Angeles). Accordingly, some travel in the local area may be required for games (generally, 15 miles or less). The EXTRA league competes outside of the regular AYSO program; hence, players who participate in EXTRA will not participate in the regular program (including playoffs and All Star competition). The EXTRA teams have their own Area-wide and Section-wide tournament, and will enter tournaments of their own choosing. EXTRA teams are coached by AYSO volunteer coaches, as well as professional trainers supplied by UK International Soccer Camps.
